Demandware XChange and Magento Imagine are taking place in the U.S.
It barely seems a year since we were last over the other side of the pond, attending the global conferences for Demandware and Magento. These key events in our calendar give us an opportunity to network with our peers, partners, clients and senior executives from both organisations and learn more about their plans for the next 12 months and how as one of their Solution Partners we can help support that.
Key members of the Tryzens commercial team are jetting out on Saturday to Hollywood, Florida for the Demandware XChange conference at the Diplomat Resort in Florida, as well as to the Wynn resort in Las Vegas the following week for Magento Imagine.
Isn’t this just an excuse for a ‘networking party’?
We’d be telling a very small fib if we didn’t say there were some pretty impressive networking events while we’re out in the US, from the Demandware Dinner Party to the Magento Legendary Imagine Event but these are in the evenings and during the day there is plenty of work to be done…
For starters, it gives us an opportunity to catch up with all of our partners that we’re actively working with to help bring more value to our clients through new services and solutions. We’re also working with a number of them to incorporate reporting and dashboard features in to TradeState – our new BI and analytics tool. We’ll be hoping to catch up with the likes of Nosto, Bronto, Rackspace, Attraqt, Cogeco Peer 1, Amplience, Certona, Ingenico, inRiver, Klarna and POQ.
The keynote sessions are always engaging and thought provoking, and delivered to a packed house of attendees. This year will be no different given the calibre of the speakers taking to the stage. Tom Brady, the New England Quarter Back is the headline speaker at XChange, whilst Earvin “Magic” Johnson will lead a keynote session at Magento.
There are also a number of industry experts, merchants and the management teams of both vendors addressing the attendees at each conference. The sessions around ‘Building a Business Case for a Mobile App’ ‘Embedding Intelligence into the Shopper Journey’ have caught our eye with Demandware, and are highly relevant given our event later in the year we are co-hosting with POQ and the addition of CQuotient to the core platform.
Over at Magento, there is a clear focus on showcasing the increasing B2B credentials and we’ll likely join both the ‘Designing the B2B Experience’ and ‘The Inescapable B2B Buyer Journey Shift to Mobile’ to hear from the panel, which includes Peter Sheldon who is now Head of Strategy for Magento Commerce, previously having been VP & Principle Analyst for Forrester Research.
A great opportunity to discuss the recent changes in both platforms
You may have read recently about the exciting announcements from Demandware about the launch of CQuotient within the core platform, and the intention to integrate the Adobe Marketing Cloud with the platform as they continue to move towards their goal of ‘Unified Commerce’ and having one system from which retailers can deliver their complete omni-channel strategy. In addition, there was also a change to how development is controlled through the use of ‘Controllers’ instead of ‘Pipelines’ which will impact some of our partners as we upgrade their LINK cartridges to support versions 16.1 and above.
And of course, a blog that references a Magento conference wouldn’t be complete without Magento 2.0 getting a mention somewhere. This time last year we were promised it for Q4 and Magento delivered on that promise. As you would expect with a major re-architecture and platform release, and I’m sure the majority of partners would testify to, there have been some teething issues and things to iron out but the momentum is forward and in the long term Magento 2.0 should only be viewed as a positive step for the direction of the platform.
If you’re at either event – or even if you’re not…
We’ll be publishing content throughout both conferences including the key headlines, news and insights that we gather while we are there, so be sure to check our blog for a daily summary of events, or follow us on LinkedIn and Twitter to be the first to receive notification as we share our updates. Plus, we might even share the odd photo from our travels so stay tuned…
