Following the partnership with Tryzens and the migration of its infrastructure, the retailer achieved a 38% increase in sales compared to the same Black Friday period in 2015, and eventually reached double-digit growth throughout the entire week of trading. The retailer’s impressive ability to effectively handle the peak traffic was credited by Internet Retailing as one of the top 10 performing websites on desktop during this period. Eliminating latency and ensuring a seamless customer journey through an effective and efficient online platform was vital in securing this achievement.
Additionally, Tryzens helped develop a synonymous shopping experience between the retailer’s online and in-store platforms by introducing click-and-collect fulfilment. As a result, click-and-collect orders grew by 60%, and the customer journey to final purchase was streamlined for faster checkout.
The retailer benefitted from additional costs savings due to the shift towards larger and more modern servers, which reduced the requirement for IT refreshes in the future. These cost savings combined with the annual growth in revenue have enabled the retailer to reinvest the money into other critical aspects of the business. As a result, it is able to ensure that it maintains the high level of service for future peak periods of trade.
Proper planning and investment with Tryzens has enabled the retailer to not only guarantee a successful trading period for the Black Friday period in 2016, but also future-proofed the performance of the website two or more years down the line. It has also helped reduce operating costs on the maintenance of the IT infrastructure in the process.
