Our quarterly partner event hit the bullseye

Here at Tryzens, we recognise the need to maintain strong relationships with our partners who provide complimentary solutions for our clients. One way we maintain those relationships, is by organising our quarterly partner event to allow our partners to network with each other and spend time with our client facing staff.

We’re constantly trying to think of new ideas to ensure the events are both worthwhile for our partners to attend, but also entertaining, and I think our most recent event also falls in to the category of memorable. This quarter, we headed off to the Inn of Court in Holborn to play darts!

But this wasn’t just going to be a load of novices hopefully trying to land a dart somewhere on the dartboard, as we were joined by professional darts player, world matchplay and world grand prix champion, and former world number 1, Colin “Jaws” Lloyd and professional MC Paul Booth.

On arrival, each of our guests had to fill out a ‘Next at the oche’ form in order that Paul could introduce each player when it was their turn. The details requested ranged from nickname and favourite darts player, through to your claim to fame and biggest achievement. Whilst some people took time to think about their responses, it soon became clear they needn’t have worried, as if Paul had a better idea for one of the questions, he’d share his views on what the form should have said (and no, we’re not providing the transcript for these……)

Each player was attempting two challenges, the first being set by Colin as we played ‘Colin’s Magic Number’ which involved him totalling the score from his 3 darts and the player needing to exactly match the total. It’s fair to say he was generous in generating his magic number as it was quite clear that 180 (or even 80) was going to be well beyond the reach of those present. Those matching the number advanced to the final shootout later in the evening.

The second challenge, and somewhat simpler part (or so you would think!) was to hit the highest total you could with your 3 darts. For a while the leader board was made up of scores in the 30’s and 40’s, with a few seasoned partners managing to break the 50 barrier.

Once everybody had tried their luck, it was time for the final to see who would walk away with the star prize. And by star prize, we weren’t talking vouchers or a bottle of wine. These were prizes that you just couldn’t buy, signed pictures from some of darts most iconic names. Congratulations to our winners:

1st place: Simon Bennett, Ingenico, 2nd place: Jeremy Arnold, Adyen , 3rd place: Fergus Mason, EagleEye , 4th place: James Springham, POQ and 5th place: Marcus Wheelhouse, Adyen
